ISO Certification
S.T.M. QUALITY CERTIFICATION IS S.T.M. ITSELF
Year after year S.T.M. and G.S.M. have been developing and consolidating a universally acknowledged knowhow in designing and building power transmission products and components. Already in 1998, this knowledge and experience in designing and building was certified in full conformity with ISO 9001 (G.S.M. in the year 1999) International Quality Certification Rules. A very important result which fully testifies the daily attention paid to customer needs, always improving and perfectioning technical and productive new solutions. All this to testify, once for all, how the word "QUALITY", in its highest meaning, is one of the key words shared by every single individual in S.T.M. and G.S.M.
NUMBERS OF QUALITY
46.000 square meters spread over 6 plants located in Lippo di Calderara di Reno in Bologna and one in Modena. more than 500 employees, more than 150 machine tools divided into individual workstations CNC, robotic workstations and Islands plurimacchina automated and robotized, work centers, 1.500 measuring instruments and control systems for the operations performed by operators of self-control on the machine, in the workshop and assembly, to control operations in acceptance. 6 final test stations for the performance of functional tests on the finished products, 1 test room for technical tests on products.
ATEX CERTIFICATION
DIRECTIVE ATEX 2014/34/UE
Directive ATEX 2014/34/UE (ATEX - ATmosphères EXplosives) became effective on 20th April 2016 and mandatory on equipment and systems for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The Directive relates not only to electrical equipment, but also to mechanical equipment which is capable of causing an explosion through its own potential source of ignition.
The environment (petrolchemical, farmaceutical, cosmetic, painting manufacturing, texture dyeing, paper production, woodworking, etc) where basically power transmission equipment is installed, are covered by the ATEX Directive and therefore, speed reducers and variators are both included with and without motors.
The S.T.M./G.S.M. - ATEX gearboxes and variators are suitable to the design requirements specified in Group II, Category 2, in order to operate in areas with explosion danger of gas “G” and of combustive dusts “D”.

GOST R Certification
GOST R Certification is valid for the Russian Federation market.
This certification has been sought after and achieved for all the reducers produced by S.T.M. e G.S.M.
The attainment of GOST (Gosudarstvennyj Standart) R certification gurantees the products' adherence to the strict safety and quality standards imposed by the Russian Federation, and allows them to be exported to one of the most demanding international markets.
CTI member
A new and important recognition for gearboxes produced by G.S.M., specific for this application.
To be member of CTI (Cooling Technology Institute) ensures adherence to strict quality standards imposed by this institution.
EAC EX Certification
G.S.M. RX/800 GEARBOXES RECEIVED A NEW AND IMPORTANT RECOGNITION
EAC Certification is valid in the five member States of Eurasian Customs Union: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
The Directive which regulates the production of equipments (which will be working in areas subject to explosion hazards) depends on 012/2011 technical regulations.
EAC EX Certificate is the result of the compliance with TR-CU 012/2011 regulations and it is comparable to ATEX Certification.
Certificate UNI/PdR (Gender Equality)
STM, in 2024, obtained the Gender Equality Certification, which attests to the company’s commitment to take measures and actions that guarantee the Gender Equality in the workplace.
